Matt Kjernes

Matt Kjernes is the Chief Technology Officer at Cotality, where he leads the global engineering organization and technology strategy. He oversees the end-to-end engineering of Cotality’s product portfolio—spanning Real Estate, Appraisal, Data Solutions, and Mortgage—while managing the holistic technical vision, architecture, UX/Design, and the platform teams responsible for APIs and developer experiences.

Under Matt’s leadership, the organization has shifted toward an AI-native culture, leveraging generative AI tools and agentic workflows to accelerate innovation. He directs the engineering of Cotality’s global platform, ensuring it serves as a scalable value generator for the company’s CoreAI foundation and delivers robust solutions to millions of property professionals worldwide.

Previously, Matt spent over a decade in P&C Insurance technology with West Bend Mutual Insurance and Marshall & Swift/Boeckh, focusing on M&A integration, big data management, and cloud architecture. He holds a Management Computer Systems degree from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.
