As Australians engage in conversations around gender equality, CoreLogic adds a new dimension to the debate - the issue of gender equity in property ownership.

Overall females (68.2%) had slightly higher dwelling ownership rates than males (67.4%).

More than half of men (51.6%) aged 18-29 own a dwelling, compared to just over a quarter (27.3%) of their female counterparts.

Property investing continues to skew towards men with 14.1% of males owning at least one residential investment property compared to 12.5% of women.

This year we used an updated survey methodology to deliver new and unique insights into home ownership rates among Australian women and men, as well as differences between genders in motivations, attitudes and barriers to getting on the property ladder.

Don't miss the fourth annual edition of the report to understand equality in the property market - and the factors that could reinforce the gender wealth gap over time.
